The James Dyson Award 2024 has announced its two Global Winners, awarding £30,000 to each for groundbreaking solutions in medicine and sustainability:
• Medical Winner: Athena, a portable, affordable device to prevent hair-loss during chemotherapy, created by Olivia Humphreys from the University of Limerick.
• Sustainability Winner: airXeed Radiosonde, a reusable, eco-friendly weather sensor developed by Shane Kyi Hla Win and Danial Sufiyan Bin Shaiful from the Singapore University of Technology and Design.
James Dyson praised the winners for addressing global issues with innovative solutions, reflecting the award’s mission to inspire students to take action on pressing challenges.
